Li Liancheng, Party chief of Xixinzhuang Village, has led the village out of poverty and turned the village as a model of success in rural development.
Since assuming the office of village head in 1991, Li has led his fellow villagers to expand their business into diverse areas such as vegetable cultivation and paper recycling. The village, now home to over 20 firms, is still striding towards high-end and intelligent industries.
As a deputy to the National People's Congress (NPC), Li brought the "eight dreams of farmers" to the spotlight when attending the NPC's annual session in 2019. These dreams including better access to basic education, quality medical care, and more employment in the neighborhood, resonated with the aspirations of rural residents nationwide.
The transformation of Xixinzhuang Village stands as a testament to the realization of these dreams. Access to wide roads, quality healthcare and education has become true over the recent years. Every household at the village now owns a three-story house with elevator, surrounded by a variety of public service and business facilities.
