China Railway Express (Zhengzhou) has opened a new route. On the afternoon of June 29, Afghanistan local time, a train loaded with textiles arrived at Hairatan Station, marking not only the arrival of the maiden international freight train from Zhengzhou, but also the launch of a new international logistics channel from China's Central Plains.
The train, consisting of 54 wagons and carrying about 1,700 tons of cargo valued at roughly 2 million US dollars, mainly high-quality textiles from Henan and neighboring areas. Heading westward, it exited China at Horgos Port and arrived at its final destination, Hairatan in Afghanistan. Its arrival marks the opening of a stable and efficient freight route between Central China and Afghanistan. Featuring low cost, high capacity, efficiency, and stability, this route is expected to help enterprises lower logistics costs and expand their trade coverage with shared resources.
Since the launch ofits first international rail freight service in 2021, Zhengzhou New Silk Road International Port Investment Company, serving as a platform, has so far launched international routes from Zhengzhou to Helsinki, Kaliningrad, Mersin, Budapest, Vientiane, Ulan Bator, and Hairatan. In addition, it has operated dedicated trains for Yutong Group, Zhengzhou Coal Mining Machinery Group, and ASEAN fruit. These efforts have enabled the China Railway Express (Zhengzhou) assembly center to establish an international logistics network covering 29 stations and 10 ports.
