A fire broke out at an auto supplies wholesale market in Zhengzhou, Henan province on Friday night, resulting in two deaths and two injured, according to China Media Group.
The fire started at around 9 pm and local authorities launched an immediate emergency rescue operation after the accident.
As of 1 am Saturday, rescue workers had evacuated 30 residents from the accident site, and all open flames were extinguished completely.
The two injured patients were sent to hospitals for medical treatment, their injuries were not life-threatening, and they are in stable condition.
The operator of the auto plaza has been taken into police custody.
On-site cleaning and hazard elimination work is underway to restore normal order in the surrounding area.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Relevant departments will release follow-up information in a timely manner once the investigation is completed.
