According to Zhumadian Customs on November 10, pharmaceutical exports from Zhumadian reached 470 million yuan in the first 9 months of this year, marking a 33.8 percent year-on-year increase. This places Zhumadian at the top of Henan province's pharmaceutical exports. As "China's Medicine Valley", the city is strengthening its foothold in global markets.
During a visit to the chlortetracycline workshop at Zhumadian Huazhong Chia Tai Co., Ltd., reporters observed workers busy packaging feed-grade products for export. With help from Zhumadian Customs, the company printed a certificate of origin through its self-service system for a shipment bound for ASEAN, saving 20,000 yuan in tariffs on goods worth 440,000 yuan. "Thanks to the one-on-one guidance from Zhumadian Customs, we've been able to make the most of RCEP policies and choose more cost-effective export options," a company executive said. In the first three quarters, the company exported 5,231 tons of chlortetracycline, valued at 75 million yuan.

Atthe spiramycin API workshop of Tianfang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., workers were busy fulfilling production orders. "So far this year, we've produced 562 tons of spiramyc in and acetylspiramycin, worth 290 million yuan, for export. Our products have been shipped to 71 countries and regions, including Vietnam," said Wang Hui, the company's general manager.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), Zhumadian exported pharmaceuticals worth a total of 1.64 billion yuan, reflecting an average annual growth rate of 20.1 percent.
Zhumadian will develop itself as "China's Medicine Valley", provide tailored support to local enterprises, and help pharmaceutical companies upgrade their operations to boost its export-oriented economy, said an official from Zhumadian Customs.
