On November 3rd, the 18th China-LAC Business Summit was held in Zhengzhou. As an important parallel session of this summit, the Special Dialogue on China-LAC Air Cargo Hubs and Cross-border Trade attracted over 200 participants, including diplomatic envoys of Latin American countries in China, representatives of trade promotion agencies, heads of air logistics enterprises, and experts and scholars. With the theme of "Air Silk Road Linking China and LAC", they conducted in-depth exchanges around the construction of air cargo hubs and the paths forcross-border trade cooperation, injecting new vitality into China-LAC economic and trade cooperation.
"The 'Dual Hubs' of Zhengzhou and Mexico City are not only a new route on the logistics map, but also represent an interconnected community full of opportunities." During the keynote sharing session of the dialogue, Santiago Toledo, Commercial Counselor of the Mexican Embassy in China, delivered a speech that resonated with the on-site guests. He introduced that since Awesome Cargo launched the Zhengzhou-Mexico City cargo route, it has operated nearly 700 flights. The route frequency has now increased to five flights per week, and its service scope extends to multiple LAC countries including Colombia, Peru, and Venezuela.
From January to October this year, the cumulative cargo volume on this route reached 17,000 tons, with cross-border e-commerce goods accounting for approximately 90% of the outbound flights from Zhengzhou. On this corridor, Chinese electronic products, clothing and textiles, and high-quality fresh foods from LAC countries have achieved a "two-way flow". This has not only provided Chinese enterprises and e-commerce giants with an "Fast Track"deep into the LAC hinterland but also opened the door to the world's largest consumer market for LAC exporters.
