Reporters learned on October 8 that as of October 7, Zhengzhou Airport has completed a cumulative international and regional cargo and mail throughput of 471,800 tons this year, exceeding the full-year international and regional cargo and mail throughput of last year by more than two months in advance, with a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 40.6%.
It is understood that Zhengzhou Airport's international and regional cargo and mail throughput has ranked 5th in China and 1st in Central China for consecutive years, only behind Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
The Zhengzhou-Luxembourg "Air Silk Road" has provided a backbone support for Zhengzhou to build an international air cargo hub. Since its first flight in Zhengzhou in 2014, Cargolux has contributed a total cargo volume of 1.3 million tons to Zhengzhou Airport. In the first nine months of this year, Cargolux's cargo volume in Zhengzhou reached 105,200 tons, accounting for 22.9% of Zhengzhou Airport's international and regional cargo and mail throughput.
On October 3, with the arrival of a fully loaded cargo plane of Cargolux in Zhengzhou, the number of inbound and outbound cargo flights at Zhengzhou Airport Port (ZAP) in 2025 exceeded 10,000, making it the first airportport in Central China to seeits international cargo flights "break 10,000" this year, and the carrying capacity of the "Air Silk Road" has been continuously upgraded.
Since the beginning of this year, Zhengzhou Airport has attracted 8 cargo airlines including Maersk Air (Denmark), Etihad Airways (UAE) and Saudi Airlines to settle in. It has newly opened 12 international cargo routes from Zhengzhou to Abu Dhabi, Riyadh and Brussels, and increased the frequency of 7 existing international cargo routes from Zhengzhou to Liège, Istanbul, Tashkentand others.
Another set of noteworthy data comes from cross-border e-commerce business. In the first nine months of this year, Zhengzhou Airport completed a cumulative cross-border e-commerce cargo volume of 180,000 tons, a YoY growth of 106.2%, accounting for 52% of itsinternational export cargo volume.
