The Linggong Dike, a key project in Yellow River management, was recently included in the first batch of Yellow River Water Conservancy Heritage Sites by the Yellow River Conservancy Commission.

The Linggong Dike, located at the Liuyuankou section of the Yellow River in Kaifeng, was built under the supervision of national hero Lin Zexu (1785-1850). In 1841, after a breach in the Yellow River near Kaifeng flooded the area, Lin Zexu, though en route to exile, was urgently appointed to lead the repair efforts. Despite personal hardships, he worked alongside local people to seal the breach and build the dike. More than a hydraulic project, the Linggong Dike reflects Lin Zexu's expertise in water management and his strong sense of duty, holding great historical and cultural value.
