Recently, Henan Intellectual Property Protection Center announced that from January to March this year, Henan was granted 21,929 new patents, including 3,161 invention patents, 15,359 utility model patents, and 3,409 design patents, highlighting the province’s ongoing improvements in intellectual property creation and utilization.
By the end of March, Henan had 94,955 valid invention patents, representing a 9.33% year-on-year increase. Among these patents, 20,725 are held by universities, 2,409 by research institutions, 65,266 by industrial and mining enterprises, 2,820 by government agencies and organizations, and 3,735 by individuals.
In terms of trademarks, Henan recorded 88,572 trademark applications and 68,422 trademark registrations in the first quarter of this year. By the end of March, the number of valid registered trademarks in the province reached 2,175,089.
