Q1 trade expansion in Zhengzhou Xinzheng Bonded Zone hits multi-year high

Zhengzhou Xinzheng Comprehensive Bonded Zone recorded imports and exports worth 98.8 billion yuan in the first quarter of the year, according to figures released by China's General Administration of Customs, according to the Port Administration of Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone (ZAEZ) on April 21. The zone now ranks second among the counterparts nationwide, climbing four places compared to the same period last year. Its trade volume rose by 56.8% year-on-year, the highest growth rate in nearly four years, and nearly double the pace seen in early 2024.

Amid a complex and evolving global trade landscape, the zone has sustained steady foreign trade while actively fostering new growth engines, contributing to a significant increasein import and export volumesthis year.

According to an official from the ZAEZ's Port Administration, the 5.073-square-kilometer zone has accounted for over 48% of Henan's total foreign trade value this year, reinforcing its role as a key stabiliser for the province's external trade. The electronics and information industry led the rebound, registering import and export volume of 93.72 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 52.9%.
