The 2025 China (Anyang) International Conference of Chinese Characters kicked off! At this grand gathering, guests from all over the world came together to explore the world of Chinese characters.

One Chinese character, one world - a single character connects us all and opens a window to the world. So, which characters do international friends love most?

Magdalena from Poland is deeply passionate about Chinese culture. During her journey of learning Chinese, she discovered a character that she particularly loves - "花" (hua), meaning "flower".

"This character is not only beautiful, but also rich in meaning," she said. Magdalena analyzed the structure of the character and felt that it perfectly captures the essence of a flower.

She explained that the top part of the character is the "艹", which stands for grass - the place where flowers naturally grow. The bottom part is "化", which means change, perfectly reflecting the nature of a flower - constantly growing, blooming, and eventually withering and then wilting.

She also pointed out that the character "化" subtly contains the component "亻" (person), symbolizing the deep connection between humans and nature, which she finds genuinely heartwarming and meaningful.

It is this kind of meaning hidden in every stroke that fascinates Magdalena. She said, "Chinese characters carry the wisdom of Chinese culture - the more I learn, the more interesting they become." (Zhang Yahan)
