Henan's foreign trade exceeds 740 billion yuan in Jan-Nov

According to Zhengzhou Customs on December 16, Henan's total foreign trade value reached 740.25 billion yuan in the first 11 months of this year, marking a 0.5% year-on-year increase.This is the first time this year that the cumulative growth rate has turned positive.

From July to November, Henan's foreign trade saw growth for five consecutive months. In November, the total value reached 92.68 billion yuan, up 16.7% year-on-year, outpacing the national growth rate of 1.2% by 15.5 percentage points for the same period.

The number of foreign trade companies has increased by more than 10%, reflecting a sustained boost in foreign trade activity. In the first 11 months, 12,713 companies engaged in foreign trade, a 10.5% year-on-year increase, with a net increase of 1,210 businesses. Among them, 474 companies reported foreign trade volumes exceeding 100 million yuan, and nearly 70% of them saw growth in both imports and exports.

Henan's foreign trade has seen growth across markets including the ASEAN, the EU, Latin America, Africa, Mexico, and Australia. During the same period, Henan's trade with countries of the Belt and Road Initiative totaled 333.51 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.4%.

The rapid growth in exports of automobiles, aluminum, silver, and furniture was a key highlight of Henan's foreign trade in the first eleven months, with all seeing double-digit increases. Together, these exports contributed an additional 15.49 billion yuan, boosting the province's overall export growth by 3.2 percentage points. Specifically, automobile exports rose by 26.1% to 29.2 billion yuan, aluminum surged by 38% to 22.64 billion yuan, silver grew by 26.6% to 10.36 billion yuan, and furniture increased by 12.6% to 9.18 billion yuan.

In terms of new drivers of growth, Henan's exports of the "new three" products —electric vehicles, solar products, and lithium batteries —totaled 10.15 billion yuan in the first 11 months, marking a 15.5% year-on-year increase. Notably, electric vehicle exports surged to 7.14 billion yuan, up 86.6% from the previous year.

In addition, ten prefecture-level regions in Henan saw their import and export values surpass 13 billion yuan, including Zhengzhou, Jiyuan, Luoyang, Xuchang, Sanmenxia, Jiaozuo, Kaifeng, Puyang, Nanyang, and Xinxiang.
