On October 24, "BYD·D Space", China's first BYD New Energy Vehicle(NEV) Science Museum, officially opened in Zhengzhou. The four-story, 15,000-square-meter museum aims to engage the public with a rich blend of carculture, design, technology, and interactive experiences.

The first floorpresents the evolution of energy in transportation and highlights the rise of China's NEVindustry.

According to the staff at the museum, "BYD has a team of over 110,000 engineers across 11 research institutes, with more than 48,000 patent applications and over 30,000 approved patents. On average, 32 submissions and 15 approvals each day."

Science and technology are the primary productive force. Zhengzhou BYD completed construction in just 37 days, reaching full production within 17 months. In the first nine months of 2023 alone, it produced over 200,000 vehicles, generating a total output value of 33.47 billion yuan. Strong scientific and technological support has empowered Zhengzhou BYD, located in the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone (ZAEZ), to continually break records in production.

Electricity demand serves as a key indicator of a company's growth. In the first three quarters of this year, Zhengzhou BYD maintained impressive momentum, with electricity consumption for its automotive, battery, and new materials projects increasing by 196.31% year-on-year.

The second floor features two main exhibition areas, "Design Beauty" and "Engineering Power",which together showcase the complete process of manufacturing a vehicle from the sketch.

As BYD's largest vehicle manufacturing base, Zhengzhou BYD features an impressive 98% automation rate on its production line, with a power battery cell completed every 30 seconds and a NEV rolling off the line in less than a minute.

The third and fourth floors are dedicated to Innovation Technology and Science Exploration, immersing car enthusiasts in the captivating technology of NEVs and the limitless possibilities of a sustainable lifestyle.

Additionally, more cultural hubs focused on NEVs, similar to "BYD·D Space",will be built upin Henan.

Recently, Zhengzhou Aviation Metropolitan Development Group officially signed an agreement with a multinational corporation to jointly establish an International Auto Culture Industry Park in ZAEZ. This initiative aims to introduce world-class auto races while integrating functions such as NEV exhibitions and sales, automotive cultural exchanges, leisure experiences, and displays of Central Plain culture. Following a development model of "culture + industry + racing + tourism",the project seeks to create an automotive-themed cultural, commercial, and tourism complex.

In the southeastern region of ZAEZ, a 31.4-square-kilometer auto city is rapidly taking shapein which ZAEZ will establish a super loop line and host a series of events, including nationwide car drifting competitions. Additionally, the city will introduce auto modification, motorsports, and car enthusiast culture, creating an automotive cultural intellectual property (IP) and a year-round auto carnival in ZAEZ.
