Following a bountiful summer holiday, Henan's culture and tourism sector experienced another boom during the just-ended 3-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, thanks to a series of themed activities and preferential measures introduced by the local culture and tourism department. During the holiday, Henan received a total of 18.845 million domestic tourists, generating tourism revenue of 9.16 billion yuan. Compared to the same period in 2019, the number of visitors and tourism revenue increased by 16.4% and 14.9% respectively. Compared to 2022, these figures grew by 18.9% and 22.8%.
According to data from Ctrip, Tongcheng, and Qunar, there has been a notable risein bookings for short trips within the province. The proportion of hotel bookings within the province, including one-night stays, has significantly increased, with an average travel radius of about 360 kilometers. The most popular destinations are those reachable within 2 hours by high-speed rail and within 3 hours by self-driving.
According to statistics, the top five scenic spots ranked by visitor numbers are Wansui Mountain with 131,000 visitors, Enjoy International Tourism Resort with 125,340 visitors, Longmen Grottoes with 101,300 visitors, Millennium City Park with 82,200 visitors, and Yuntai Mountain with 70,100 visitors.
