Since early 2024, Henan has vigorously promoted high-quality development and optimized the service sector's industrial structure, thus fostering increased endogenous growth momentum and strengthening the emergence of new dynamics and advantages, said Henan Statistics Bureau on August 5. In the first half of the year, the added value of the service industry in Henan reached 1.6585 trillion yuan, an increase of 3.2 percent year-on-year.
The ongoing trend of upgrading and optimizing the service industry structure has further stimulated the consumer potential. The development of new business formats is vibrant. In the first five months of 2024, the operating income of Henan's internet data service and supply chain management enterprises above designated size increased by 13.6 percent and 13.0 percent respectively year-on-year. In the e-commerce sector, the express delivery industry is growing rapidly. During the period, Henan's average monthly express delivery volume has exceeded 670 million pieces, reaching 4.06 billion pieces by the end of June, an increase of 40.0 percent year-on-year.
