During the past 5-day May Day holiday, Henan basically realized its goal of creating a prosperous, safe, stable and orderly culture and tourism market by optimizing its culture and tourism products according to the seasonal changes from spring to summer and the various needs of tourists during the holiday.
During the May Day holiday, Henan received 61.681 million domestic tourists, generating tourism revenue of 35.42 billion yuan. Compared with the same period last year, the number of tourists increased by 11.8 percent and the tourism revenue increased by 14.2 percent. On a comparable basis with the same period in 2019, the figures increased by 35.6 percent and by 23.0 percent respectively. Key scenic spots rated 4A and above in Henan welcomed 14.21128 million tourists, up 15.08 percent compared to the same period in 2023, with a revenue totaling 10354.843 million yuan, a 36.25 percent increase year on year. The top five scenic spots by number of visitors are Enjoy Land International Resort, Millennium City Park, Yuntai Mountain, Wansui Mountain, and Longmen Grottoes. Henan's museums, public libraries, cultural centers (including intangible cultural heritage exhibition halls included), art galleries, and township (sub-district) comprehensive cultural stations (centers) welcomed 3.385 million tourists.
