Henan's auto export has achieved a promising beginning. Since January, foreign trade enterprises in Henan have been sparing no efforts to expand their overseas market presence for additional orders. According to data from Zhengzhou Customs, in the first two months of this year, 5.5 billion yuan worth of Henan-made vehicles were exported, a year-on-year increase of more than 60 percent, including 1.8 billion yuan worth of new energy vehicles, a year-on-year increase of nearly 300 percent.

In recent years, Henan has placed significant emphasis on advancing its auto industry. Notably, the new energy vehicle has been incorporated into the province's 7 "1-trillion-yuan" advanced manufacturing clusters and 28 key industrial chains designated for development. Progress has been evident with the commencement of operations at the Zhengzhou BYD plant last year, the new vehicles rolled off the production line at SAIC Zhengzhou plant (phase II), and the swift construction of new energy battery production base of Zhongzhou Era. The rapid growth of the automobile sector has positioned it as a key driver of the province's high-quality foreign trade development.

Recent data indicates a significant surge in Henan's auto exports since 2022. In that year, the export value reached 12.51 billion yuan, a remarkable year-on-year increase of 128.5 percent, while in 2023, the figure climbed to 25.83 billion yuan, marking a notable year-on-year increase of 106.6 percent.

"We secured a substantial overseas bus order at the close of last year, with plans to deliver 300 buses to our customers throughout this year. In this January, we received a record-breaking order from overseas for 214 new energy buses, a milestone in the Latin American market in terms of quantity. Our export volume is expected to reach a new height this year." Xie Wenli, director of the Foreign Trade Department of Yutong Group, highlighted that in the first two months, Yutong's export value increased by over 210 percent year-on-year, with the export of new energy vehicles in particular surging by over 600 percent year-on-year.
