As of 5 pm on October 16, 113.21 million mu (1 mu equals about 666 square meters) of autumn crops has been harvested, accounting for 95.1 percent of the total, said a source from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Henan Province on the same day. Except for some late crops such as sweet potatoes and vegetables, Henan's autumn harvest has basically come to an end.

Henan's autumn crops cover more than 76 million mu this year, including over 57 million mu of maize, 9.1 million mu of rice, 5.7 million mu of soybeans, and 3.2 million mu of sweet potatoes.

Autumn planting is underway. Now, wheat planting has become a priority across the province. Enjoying the largest wheat-growing area in China, Henan contributes a quarter to China's total wheat production. So far, 5.43 million mu of wheat has been planted, accounting for 6.3 percent of the expected goal.
