Henan's Cross-border E-commerce Trade Value Surges 20.5% in Jan-Feb

In the first two months of 2023, the cross-border e-commerce trade value of Central China's Henan province surged 20.5 percent year-on-year to 37.04 billion yuan, among which the trade value in February alone reached 19.28 billion yuan, up 26.3 percent, contributing to the good start of Henan's foreign trade this year, said a source from the Department of Commerce of Henan on March 29.

"Henan's cross-border e-commerce trade has been showing greater vitality and stronger resilience since January, demonstrating more advantages of cross-border e-commerce as a new form of foreign trade," said the source. Henan has been strengthening policy support to facilitate market expanding, brand cultivating and competitiveness improving of cross-border e-commerce enterprises, with its trade value generated by cross-border e-commerce businesses developing rapidly based on the last year's total -- 220.92 billion yuan with a 9.5 percent rise from 2021, showing a robust development momentum.

Last year, Henan added 2 cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones in Jiaozuo and Xuchang respectively. So far, 5 cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones and 7 pilot cities for cross-border e-commerce retail imports have been approved for construction across the province, further increasing platforms for the development of cross-border e-commerce. Over the past two months this year, the growth rate of the 5 cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones' trade value has exceeded 10 percent, of which the pilot zone in Zhengzhou has realized a total of 21.33 billion yuan, topping other pilot zones across the province.
