The Anyang Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference was held in Beijing on Friday.
"Anyang is a national historical and cultural city, and one of China's eight ancient capitals, with a rich history as a center of early Chinese civilization," said Yuan Jiajian, Party secretary of Anyang city, Henan province, during the conference.
Anyang city is famous for its rich historical and cultural heritage, as it was one of the early centers of Chinese civilization. It is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Yin Ruins (or Yinxu site), which is considered to be one of the most important archaeological sites in China. Anyang is also known as the "Capital of Chinese Characters" due to its close association with the development of the Chinese writing system. The city boasts natural scenic spots such as the Red Flag Canal and the Taihang Grand Canyon.
In recent years, Anyang has vigorously promoted the Red Flag Canal spirit, which features "self-reliance, hard work, solidarity and selfless dedication". Anyang is making progress towards becoming a popular tourist destination with attractions such as The National Museum of Chinese Writing, the Yin Ruins and famous cultural and historical streets.
