The construction of the Hankou Tunnel locating on the Xinxiang-Jincheng Expressway -- the world's longest spiral tunnel -- has been completed within the assigned 858 days.
Linking Xinxiang city of Henan province with Jincheng city of Shanxi province, the expressway is 69.754 kilometers long, including 28-kilometer tunnel complex.
The Hankou Tunnel is dubbed the "No.1 Spiral Tunnel in the World" along the expressway as a result of its marvelous length.
Compared with the Jinjiazhuang Tunnel listed in the Guinness Book of World Records on the expressway linking Yanqing district of Beijing with Chongli district of Zhangjiakou city in Hebei province, the Hankou Tunnel exceeds in the length (4,457 meters), minimum radius (about 700 meters) and maximum elevation difference between the tunnel entrance and exit (109 meters).
