The 6th Global Cross-border E-commerce Conference Kicks off in Zhengzhou

To share development opportunities and create a better future, the 6th Global Cross-border E-commerce Conference (GCBEC) kicked off in Zhengzhou city of Henan province on the morning of August 9. More than 900 foreign dignitaries, representatives of international organizations, experts, scholars and representatives of well-known cross-border e-commerce enterprises attended the conference to share their experience and wisdom on the development of global cross-border e-commerce. Uruguayan President Luis Lacalle Pou addressed the conference while Lou Yangsheng, secretary of the CPC Henan Provincial Committe, declared the conference open.

Luis Lacalle Pou remarked that Henan, located in Central China, is one of the engines of global cross-border e-commerce. The GCBEC is of great significance to advancing trade cooperation between China and Uruguay by analyzing the current situation and future prospects of cross-border e-commerce. Now, Uruguay attaches great importance to digital economy and is actively building a regional and global digital economy hub. Based on the fruitful achievements made by the both sides in e-commerce. For common development and a shared future, Uruguay is willing to deepen cooperation with Henan and provide high-quality infrastructure and legal guarantee for Chinese e-commerce enterprises.

According to Ren Hongbin, chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), who is also secretary of the CCPIT Party Leadership Group, and Guo Tingting, assistant minister of China's Ministry of Commerce, who is also secretary of the Ministry's Party Leadership Group, Henan is a province with high-level opening up in Central China while Zhengzhou one of the first batch of cross-border e-commerce comprehensive experimental zones approved by the State Council. With a good industrial foundation and unique geographical advantage, Henan has taken the lead in cross-border e-commerce. The CCPIT and the Ministry of Commerce are willing to work with Henan to make the GCBEC more fruitful, promote the vigorous development of cross-border e-commerce and ensure steady and high-quality growth in foreign trade, thus contributing to the development of Henan's open-oriented economy and the recovery of the world economy.
