On June 29, the UK-Henan Business Roundtable hosted by the Department of Commerce of Henan Province and the British Consulate General in Wuhan was held in Zhengzhou city of Henan province, with about 50 representatives from relevant institutions and enterprises of both sides attended.
He Jinping (vice-governor of Henan province) and Caroline Elizabeth Wilson (British Ambassador to China) delivered speeches.
After briefly introducing the economic and social development of Henan, He Jinping remarked that the economic and trade exchanges between Henan and Britain have shown a steady growth trend, hoping that through this event, both sides can enhance exchanges for a broader and deeper business cooperation. For example, both Henan and the UK can strengthen practical cooperation in high-end manufacturing sectors such as auto parts production, new energy batteries and optical equipment for mutual benefit. Besides, the two sides can expand cooperation by exchanging researchers, building research and development platforms and jointly training talents for more achievements. Finally, both sides can deepen communication and exchanges in culture, tourism, sports, etc., thus pushing the bilateral cooperation to a new level.
Caroline Elizabeth Wilson remarked that Henan has very good development prospects and preferential policies, and more British companies are eager to expand investment in Henan to achieve mutual benefit and common development.
