Critically Endangered Waterfowl Spotted in Henan

Six Baer's pochards (Aythya baeri), one of the world's most critically endangered waterfowl, were observed recently in Danjiang Wetland National Nature Reserve in Henan province. Baer's pochard has been listed as a "critically endangered" species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, with their global population now standing at a mere 1,000.
