Henan's Foreign Trade Volume Rises 60% to 365.66 Billion Yuan in H1

Henan's total import and export value hit a new high in the first half of 2021

Export value: 229.61 billion yuan, up 56.7 percent year-on-year

Import value: 136.05 billion yuan, up 65.8 percent year-on-year

In the first half of 2021, Henan's total import and export value soared 60 percent year-on-year to 365.66 billion yuan (a 72.7-percent increase compared with the figure of the same period in 2019), ranking 1st in central China, 3rd in central and western China and 12th in China, 32.9 percentage points higher than the nation's overall growth rate, Zhengzhou Customs reported on July 16.

Henan's total imports and exports hit a new high during the January-June period with each increasing 65.8 percent year-on-year to 136.05 billion yuan (39.9 percentage points higher than the national average) and 56.7 percent year-on-year to 229.61 billion yuan (28.6 percentage points higher than the national average). Due to the 23.9-percent contribution of Henan, China's central region saw its total import and export value from January to June up 39.9 percent year-on-year to 1.53 trillion yuan with the fastest foreign trade growth rate across the country.

Private enterprises, with the increasing vitality of their froeign trade businesses, made the greatest contribution.

Comprehensive bonded zones were the major driving force for the provincial foreign trade.

Trading with the province's top 5 trade partners, namely the US, the EU, the ASEAN, South Korea and China's Taiwan region, contributed 61.1 percent to the foreign trade volume.

Henan's main exports were mobile phones, labor-intensive products, hair products and unwrought silver, while the main imports were integrated circuits, parts of audio/video products and metal ores.
