Over the past six years, the water quality of the Danjiangkou Reservoir has always maintained above the standard of China's Environmental Quality Standard for Surface Water (Type II), meeting the requirements of water diversion. The proportion of water flowing into the main canal that meets the standard of China's Environmental Quality Standard for Surface Water (Type I) has increased from 21.6 percent five years ago to more than 82.2 percent at present, an increase of more than 60.6 percent, showing an improving trend in water quality.
