On November 23, 2024, the opening ceremony of the 15th China Photography Festival and the award ceremony of the 15th China Photography Golden Statue Awards were held in Sanmenxia city of Central China's Henan province, a birthplace of Chinese civilization and known as the "City of Swans". A total of 20 winners in the categories of documentary, artistic, and commercial photography took the stage to receive their awards, while two senior photographers of exceptional talent and virtue were honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award in Photography by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
The China Photography Festival is the earliest photography festival in China, renowned for its lasting prominence and broad impact. Since its inception in 1989, it has spanned 35 years and successfully held 14 editions. As the nation's highest individual honor in the field of photographic art, the Golden Statue Award for Chinese Photography always garnered significant attention.
At the award ceremony, the Lifetime Achievement Award in Photography, presented by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, was announced. Esteemed veteran photographers Xu Yonghui and He Shiyao were honored with this prestigious accolade.
This year's festival is co-hosted by the China Photographers Association and the Publicity Department of the CPC Henan Provincial Committee, with the Henan Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the People's Government of Sanmenxia as organizers. It will run until January 3, 2025.
During the festival, a variety of engaging exhibitions will be held, including the Exhibition of Winning Works from the 15th China Photography Golden Statue Awardsand An Encounter with Swans—The 2024 Sanmenxia Photography Exhibition. (Yang Jiaxin)
