In the first 10 months of 2021, Henan's import and export value expanded 35.4 percent year-on-year to 624.16 billion yuan with a growth rate of 13.2 percentage points higher than the national average, of which the export value saw a year-on-year increase of 36.7 percent to 380.29 billion yuan, while the import value was up 33.2 percent year-on-year to 243.87 billion yuan, resulting in a trade surplus of 136.42 billion yuan, a surge of 43.5 percent from a year earlier, said a source from Zhengzhou Customs on November 12.

It is worth noting that Henan's total import and export value in the first 10 months of this year has already exceeded the total of 2019 by 52.61 billion yuan, and is only 43.73 billion yuan less than the total of 2020.
Foreign trade of private enterprises maintained rapid growth. During the first 10 months, with a growth rate of 52.7 percentage points higher than the national average, the import and export value of private enterprises in Henan rose 88.1 percent year-on-year to 288.27 billion yuan, accounting for 46.2 percent of the province's total foreign trade value (13 percentage points higher over the same period of 2020) with a contribution rate of 82.8 percent to the province's foreign trade growth.
As Henan's top 5 foreign trade partners, the US, the ASEAN, the EU, China's Taiwan region and South Korea contributed 62.2 percent to the province's total foreign trade value. Besides, Henan's trade volume with the RCEP countries expanded 29 percent year-on-year to 171.51 billion yuan while with the "Belt and Road" countries rose 18.6 percent to 138.26 billion yuan. On top of that, the emerging markets of foreign trade were expanding steadily in Henan.
Comprehensive bonded zones (areas) were the main "stage" of Henan's foreign trade. From January to October, the import and export value of comprehensive bonded zones (areas) in Henan jumped 40.8 percent year-on-year to 372.34 billion yuan, accounting for 59.7 percent of the province's total foreign trade value with a contribution rate of 66.1 percent to the province's foreign trade growth.
Henan's import and export of mechanical and electrical products featured by mobile phone industry chain accounted for 65.3 percent of the province's total foreign trade value. Among Henan's major exports including mobile phones, labor-intensive products, hair products and unwrought silver, the export of mobile phones was up 39 percent year-on-year to 198.99 billion yuan (accounting for 52.3 percent of the province's total value of exports), while that of hair products and unwrought silver saw respectively a year-on-year increase of 91.9 percent and 147.7 percent to 14.92 billion yuan and 10.09 billion yuan. Meanwhile, integrated circuits, spare parts of audio/video products and metal ores were Henan's major imports in the first 10 months.
With a total value of 437.85 billion yuan, up 33.8 percent from a year earlier, Zhengzhou contributed more than 70 percent to the province's total foreign trade value. Besides, 16 prefecture-level cities across Henan registered positive foreign trade growth.
